Four steps toward opening
Plan and test the idea. Identify customers, costs and cash flow. Talk with a business advisor before making major commitments.
Choose and register. Review ownership and structure, names and required filings. Obtain an EIN through the IRS if needed.
Check the actual location. Confirm city limits, zoning, occupancy, industry permits, tax accounts and insurance.
Prepare to operate. Review funding terms, banking, hiring and ongoing filings. Keep accepted records and approvals.
Entity registration, tax registration and permission to operate are separate steps. A referral is a starting point; each agency or provider decides its own requirements.
